August Calendar Journal Page

Ok here we are - another month nearly over - wow time goes too quickly!! I have been doing the Calendar journal pages since the beginning of the year thanks to Kate Crane, but I struggled a little with this page this month, and I have never spent this much time on a page before  - though I have to say a lot of that is because of the cutting out of the main elements!!
I had a basic idea of what I wanted to do as far as the background went (but that's always the easy bit! Dylusions spray inks and some stencils and your off lol), but had no idea what I was going to put on as the focal point.
Fortunately on the morning I was going to do some more to the page I saw a new release by the very creative Lily Chilvers - The Octopode Factory (on etsy) - 'Clockwork Sun' - which I instantly fell in love with and bought to download - already knowing that it would work wonderfully on this page.  So thanks Lily!!!!  Then after a little computer manipulation, lots of cutting and some colouring with inktense blocks and a water brush I was well on the way and happy with the results.

I struggled with a quote as I have seen so many good ones lately, but this one has been in my head a lot as that's how I seem to feel about half the days this month!!  As the image is not that clear, the quote says 'Lets go to bed, I'm tired of this day I need a new one!!!!'  Lol, so that was the decision made for me.
Hope you all have a great August!! x

  3. O Donna this is absolutely fabulously delish! I love the design; the colours; the quote and the 'fish thing'! I have been doing the caledar challenge but not entering them as I am still new to blogging so cannot post them, but I have been very boring with the shapes for the day journaling. Is the 'fish thing' from Octopode? Thanks for sharing lol Susiesu xxx

    1. Thanks Susiesu - yes the image is from Octopode - I did change them a little on the computer so the worked on these pages!! I love all the stuff she makes and its so much fun to use the digi downloads! Posting your pages is very easy - go into your blog and click on the post you want to enter, go to the address line in the top bar and highlight and copy the address. Then when you go onto the site to enter them it will ask for the address just paste what you have copied there and add your name etc that they ask for. Then hey presto your done!!! would love to see what you have been making. Hope that helps - happy creating!! xx hugs xx
