Brain trouble!

I have been having problems doing anything creative lately - so this is the first page I have done for a while!!  Unfortunately I struggled with it!! So the saying is most appropriate!

The background was done using paint dabbers on Dylusions leaf stamp to act as a resist.  Then Distress ink blended over the top.  At this point I was loving the page - its after that, that things went wrong.  The bird in the bottom was stamped on with archival ink, painted with a distress watercolour pen then coated with clear rock candy.  I didn't allow for the rock candy distorting the paper as it dried - well you live and learn.  I enjoyed using the rub ons for the writing!!  But generally still not sure if I like it - will go back to it in a few days and see what I think then!!
In case the quote isn't clear it says 'my brain is experiencing technical difficulties normal service may resume shortly'!!

  3. This is fab Donna - dont be too self critical. Its lovely and light and bright and I know one of your tendencies is towards darker pages so well done! I like the techniques used and what a wonderful idea mixing up some font rub ons - might borrow that idea. Personally I wouldnt do much more to it - maybe outline the leaves in black to compliment the black lettering. xx Looking forward to your next page xxxx
