Surprise!!! 2 days in a row!

Ok don't be alarmed - this posting twice in 2 days is just an anomaly!!!  I wont happen to often LOL.

I was at journaling class last week, at my favourite place, Art From The Heart, (like you hadn't already guessed that!!! and this is one of the pages I did.  I have had to acquire Tim Holtz new Apothecary stamp set as I do love the skull rather a lot, so you may see it quite often in different guises. The rest of the stamps are Dyslusions.  Background as always done with Dylusions spray inks and and colouring done with posca pens.
Have a fun Week!! xxx

Gasp!! Its September!!

I have just realised that it has been nearly a month since I last posted - sorry about that - I was hoping to do it on a more regular basis!! I did actually get some work done during August but I haven't had the chance to post it!  Hopefully, all things being willing I will be able to get some of it on this month!!!!

Ok, so as I have managed to continue making and filling in the Calendar Journal Pages that I am doing along with Kate Crane on her blog, since the beginning of the year I will show you Septembers offering.  As always I only managed to get it done just in time for me to start filling in tonight, I hoping to be a bit more organised this month, but I'm not holding my breath on that one!  LOL

The background is one I started several months ago, in one of Kate's classes at AFTH.  I then left it and came back to in a few days ago.  I did some stitched round the bottom (though the paper wasn't very happy as its rather brittle at the edges) and added the Stampotique elements.  Love these stamps.  Ok now I'm done for the day I'm going to fill in the first balloon on this page!!! Have a great month! x

Timely Reminders!!

I came across this journal page today - its one of the earliest ones I did, and I still really like it! Very different from what I do now but I think the quote is something I should keep in mind at the moment!!!  Maybe I will make the time this week to do a new page re using the quote and see what I end up with!!!!  Hopefully watch this space!  Have a good week!!!

Mini Grunge Journal

This week I was lucky enough to get to a workshop at Art From The Heart which was taught by the lovely  Sandra Hall and she designed and showed us how to make this wonderful little grunge book - its ATC size.  We had a wonderful relaxing, crafty day!! Thanks so much Sandra - hugs!!!

We used some Tim Holtz papers, some tags which we decorated and some on which we created our own unique resist pages and coloured with blended distress ink pads.  Totally loved it and can see myself doing more of them as they are a fabulous way of using up some of the massive store of small pieces of paper I seem to collect!!! No surprise to those who know me, I cant throw anything away no matter how small!! LOL xx

Just a quick post!

I have been trying to do some work for several challenges that have been going on this month and have struggled to find the energy and time, but I finally did this quick tag using Tim Holtz seasonal distress pads!! I was hoping to get 3 done - oh well maybe I will manage more later today!!!  The bags under her eyes look just like mine LOL!!!

August Calendar Journal Page

Ok here we are - another month nearly over - wow time goes too quickly!! I have been doing the Calendar journal pages since the beginning of the year thanks to Kate Crane, but I struggled a little with this page this month, and I have never spent this much time on a page before  - though I have to say a lot of that is because of the cutting out of the main elements!!
I had a basic idea of what I wanted to do as far as the background went (but that's always the easy bit! Dylusions spray inks and some stencils and your off lol), but had no idea what I was going to put on as the focal point.
Fortunately on the morning I was going to do some more to the page I saw a new release by the very creative Lily Chilvers - The Octopode Factory (on etsy) - 'Clockwork Sun' - which I instantly fell in love with and bought to download - already knowing that it would work wonderfully on this page.  So thanks Lily!!!!  Then after a little computer manipulation, lots of cutting and some colouring with inktense blocks and a water brush I was well on the way and happy with the results.

I struggled with a quote as I have seen so many good ones lately, but this one has been in my head a lot as that's how I seem to feel about half the days this month!!  As the image is not that clear, the quote says 'Lets go to bed, I'm tired of this day I need a new one!!!!'  Lol, so that was the decision made for me.
Hope you all have a great August!! x

Mistakes

Well finally yesterday I had some spare time and energy - at the same time is a miracle - so I headed straight to the craft table, and this is what I came up with.

As always the background is done with Dylusions inks, stencils & stamp (one of these days I will shock you and use something else!!!)  The wings are a free download from The graphics fairy, and the others are from a steampunk book and I used Tim Holtz Rusted enamel technique on the wings.
